Matrox Vio Analog from Matrox International
Matrox Imaging (Dorval, Quebec, Canada ) is pleased to announce the Matrox Vio Analog, the newest member of the Matrox Vio family of boards for video capture and display. Matrox Vio boards deliver superior quality and definition of state-of-the-art broadcast video to simulation, training and medical imaging markets. "For the simulation and training markets in particular, the Matrox Vio Analog offers a cost effective solution for high-resolution display capture," explains Dwayne Crawford, Product Manager at Matrox Imaging. "Visible light modalities in medical imaging are able to push beyond traditional NTSC/PAL and take advantage of leading edge high-definition video technology."

The Matrox Vio Analog is a single platform capture card that supports analog HD/SD input and output. Some of its key features include low-latency video output (synchronized to the video input), 128-bit MB on-board memory, support for 20-bit video, automatic detection of the video source, and graphics overlay composition. The Matrox Vio Analog uses a x4 PCI Express® (PCIeTM) host interface, enabling it to stream high-definition video to the host PC for archiving or from the host PC for playback. Software development kits, available separately, provide support for Microsoft® Windows® XP. An SDK for Linux will be available at a later date.
